First Pinoy Idol Gretchen Espina answered the reactions and comments that she bagged the title for Pinoy Idol because of her father’s political connection. Espina was the daughter of Governor Rogelio Espina of Biliran, a smallest provinces in eastern Visayas. According to Espina, “The viewers chose me as their idol. Gretchen Espina won the First Pinoy Idol
Gretchen Espina from Biliran won the first Pinoy Idol. The Final showdown of the Pinoy Idol contest was held at the SMX of SM Mall of Asia. The three finalist left for the first Pinoy Idol were Jayann Bautista from Pampanga, Gretchen Espina from Biliran and Ram Chaves from Cagayan de Oro. It seems to coincidence that the three left finalist has came from the three regions of the Philippines.
