Three nominees are came from the Philippines in the recent live ranking to become New 7 Wonders of Nature. Tubbataha Reef a protected marine sanctuary located in Sulu Sea holds the number 2 rank followed by another Philippine entry Chocolate Hills a unique geological formation located in Bohol which improves from rank 4 to 3. Chocolate Hills of Bohol has going strong in the search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Few days ago Chocolate Hills was on the 5 position but things has change now because Bohol’s Chocolate Hills went to number 4 position. Biogas Plant in Payatas

The Payatas dump site is scene of many accidents, mostly people who live there involves in picking up trash. A few years ago, one side of the mountain of garbage collapse and killed numbers of people. The old problematic mountain of garbage will soon be the country’s largest biogas emissions reduction facility. The Quezon City government aims to help the local government in managing the biogas dump site produce by Payatas. Read more

Mindanao Export Increase 23% in 2007

Being a person from Mindanao, I am very happy that my beloved land has increases its export by almost 23% to 2.59 billion last year from 2.10 billion last 2006. Coconut and bananas tops the list of export products. Coconut farmers in Mindanao will be carry to develop their farms due to government supports such as high seedlings of coconut varieties and increase price of copra.

Other top exports of Mindanao are nickel ore, tuna, iron ore agglomerates, preserved pineapple, iron and non-alloy steel, fresh pineapple and desiccated coconut. Read more

Here is a Provincial Map of Misamis Occidental where the Municipality of Panaon is a part of it. Misamis Occidental is A major provider of agri-aqua based food, raw materials, industrial finished products and one of the eco-tourism centers in Mindanao through optimum and responsible utilization of resources.

According to History The Occidental comprised the towns of Baliangao, Lopez Jaena, Tudela, Clarin, Plaridel, Oroquieta, Aloran, Jimenez, and Misamis. The original nine (9) municipalities of the province of Misamis Occidental grew into the present three cities of Ozamiz, Oroquieta and Tangub and the fourteen (14) municipalities of Aloran, Baliangao, Bonifacio, Calamba, Clarin, Concepcion, Don Victoriano, Jimenez, Lopez Jaena, Panaon, PLaridel, Sapang Dalaga, Sinacaban and Tudela with a total of 490 barangays.
