Powerade–Team Pilipinas vs Former RP Team in 2009 PBA All-Star Week
The 2009 PBA All-Star Week is one event you should not missed, if your a Filipino basketball fanatics. Powerade–Team Pilipinas will faced the Former RP Team members like Dondon Hontiveros, Jimmy Alapag, Danny Seigle and Eric Menk.
Seigle, Menk, Alapag, Hontiveros and Jay Washington comprise the starting unit for the South Team based on fan votes. Alaska coach Tim Cone will handle the South Team. Menk, Alapag, Hontiveros and Seigle are members of the RP Team that won ninth place in the 2007 FIBA-Asia Olympic qualifier held in Tokushima, Japan.
The North Team is composed of Marc Pingris, Lordy Tugade, Enrico Villanueva, Paul Artadi and MacMac Cardona. Coach Chot Reyes will handle the said team.
These two PBA All-Star teams that will face Powerade–Team Pilipinas under coach Yeng Guiao on April 22, 24 and 26. This three game series will intend to help the Powerade–Team Pilipinas in their training and preparation for the 2009 FIBA-Asia which serves as qualifier for World Basketball Championship to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
North and South Teams will be reinforced by imports who are playing in the recent Motolite PBA Fiesta Conference. The North Team under coach Chot Reyes will first test the Powerade-Team Pilipinas on April 22 to be held in Victorias City, Negros Occidental. And the South Team will face the Powerade-Team Pilipinas on April 24 in Panabo City, Davao del Norte. The North and South starters will joined forces, together with four remaining imports under coach CHot Reyes will faced the RP Team on April 26 in the Araneta Coliseum.
