Kobe and Shaq named 2009 NBA All-Star Co-MVP
Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal or “Shaq” was named 2009 NBA All-Star Co-MVP. Kobe and Shaq who were onetime teammates and sometimes rivals teamed up again to lead Western Conference into victory in the 2009 National Basketball Association All-Star Game held Phoenix, Arizona.
The West beat the East Conference by a score of 146-119. Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant led everyone with 27 points while Phoenix Suns center Shaq made 17 points and 5 rebounds that made the two players named co-Most Valuable Players.

“It felt like old times,” O’Neal said. “I miss those times. He was really looking for me, especially when we went to a pick-and-roll and they had Rashard Lewis on me.”
Kobe Bryant, Shaq and coach Phil Jackson teamed up for the first time since June 2004, when they missed to win the crown for NBA Finals from the Detroit Pistons. Kobe and Shaq led the Los Angeles Lakers for to three NBA titles.
