We Are One: “The Obama Inaugural Celebration “, the star-studded kickoff of official inaugural festivities starting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, at Washington, D.C.’s Lincoln Memorial on January 18. The said free event is open to the public, will also be broadcast on HBO.
The initial lineup of performers for “We Are One: The Obama Inaugural Celebration at the Lincoln Memorial”: Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce, Bono, John Mellencamp, Usher, Shakira, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban and James Taylor are among the musicians scheduled to perform Sunday afternoon. Other performers include Stevie Wonder, Renee Fleming, Garth Brooks, Mary J. Blige, Herbie Hancock, Heather Headley, John Legend and Jennifer Nettles.
Queen Latifah, along with Jamie Foxx, Martin Luther King III and Denzel Washington, will give historical readings at the event. The We Are One opening celebration launches a four-day schedule of inaugural events.
