Russia won Miss World 2008 held in South Africa

Kseniya Sukhinova from Russia won the Miss World 2008 held in South Africa. Kseniya beats the 108 beauties who participates the recent Miss World 2008. Julia Morley head of the Miss World committee made the announcement.

Gabrielle Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago was crowned as second runner up while Parvathay Omanakuttan of India made the first runner up.

“I think I can help people and I want to help people and today if I walk away with this crown I will do that,” Sukhinova told judges through a translator after being asked why she should be crowned the winner.

Kseniya Sukhinova is a student pursuing a science degree as an engineer of administration from the Tyumen Oil and Gas University. And becomes the second Miss Russia to win the crown after Julia Kourochkina took the crown in 1992.
