PETA named Oprah Winfrey as “Person of the Year”
People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) named Oprah Winfrey as “Person of the Year.”
The Norfolk, Va.-based PETA, President Ingrid E. Newkirk says that the media personality used her “powerful voice to defend those without one.” The animal rights group will send Oprah Winfrey an award plaque and a letter of appreciation.
Oprah Winfrey who is named by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) as “Person of the Year” was traveling and not available for comment, according to Winfrey’s Chicago-based Harpo Productions.
