Barack Obama’s grandmother had died from cancer

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s grandmother Madelyn Dunham had died from cancer, aged 86. Obama announced on Monday, one day before the election.
The joint-statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng said that there grandmother Madelyn Dunham died peacefully after a battle with cancer.
According to them: “”She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances.”
Barack Obama learned the death of his grandmother Madelyn Dunham Monday morning while he was campaining in Jacksonville, Florida. Republican John McCain has issued condolences to his opponent.
Obama took a break from the campaign last month to flew to Hawaii to visit his grandmother Madelyn Dunham.
