Two Filipino films topped the 13th Pusan International Film Festival

Two Filipino films topped the 13th Pusan International Film Festival held in South Korea. The film “Andong” by Milo Tolentino won Best Short Film and Chris Martinez “100″ won the Audience prize. The two Filipino films were also winners in this year’s Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival, Andong won Best Short Film while “100″ won the Audience award.
Best Short Film or Sunje Award comes with a $10,000 cash prizes while the Audience prize won by “100″ comes with a $20,000 cash prize from KNN Foundation. KNN is a major TV network in Korea. Other winners are Jalainur by Zhao Ye (China) and Land of Scarecrows by Roh Geong-Tae (South Korea).
The “100” by Chris Martinez will have its commercial run in local theaters on Dec. 3. Filipino has proved it again that we are world class in making films.
