Vice-President Noli de Castro tops the latest survey for presidential position in 2010 conducted by the Social Weather Survey. The said survey made exclusive to Business World and was conducted from June 27 to 30. There were 1,200 correspondents divided into random samples of 300 each in Metro Manila, rest of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
The question posed was “Under the present Constitution, the term of President Arroyo is up to 2010 only and there will be an election for a new president in May 2010. Who do you think are the good leaders who should succeed President Arroyo as president?”
The respondents were not provided a list of names and were allowed to cite up to three persons.
Noli de Castro tops the survey for the last three quarters to be presidential aspirants, followed by Senator Loren Legarda in second place. Senate President Manuel “Manny” B. Villar on the third place from the fourth position three months ago. Senator Panfilo M. Lacson in fourth place from the seventh place in March.
The other picks are Francis “Chiz” G. Escudero, Manuel “Mar” A. Roxas, former President Joseph “Erap” E. Estrada and Senator Francis “Kiko” N. Pangilinan. Most of the names for presidential aspirants in the survey are came from the opposition. Does this mean that if the opposition unites for the 2010 election, it will be a solid force against the administration?
