Cash incentives worth Php10.5 million for first Olympic gold
Cash incentives for first athlete to win an Olympic gold is worth up to Php10.5 million or $237,000. A number of prominent personalities and Corporate sponsors also offered a million pesos for each gold and a lesser amount for silver and bronze.
There are 15 Olympic athletes who will try their quest in Beijing on August 8. The contingent includes a boxer, weightlifter, archer, shooter, two divers, two track and field, two taekwondo jins and five swimmers. The said swimmer contingent was trained in Uniter States, the weightlifter was trained in China while taekwondo jins spared with world’s best in South Korea.
